When Ford reentered the modern-day World Rally Championship, they chose to base the entry on the Focus as it was Ford’s latest and most important car in the range. It was instantly successful and from the Rally car it rekindled the RS sub brand, and the Focus RS was born. This model is now extremely collectable and becoming one of the most sought-after modern-day RS’s especially as there were just 4,501 manufactured and this one being number 2713.

They differed greatly from the standard Focus, as Ford fully exploited their links with supplier to World Rally Team, with Sparco providing the Alcantara/Leather upholstery, OZ supplied the wheels and Quaife the special limited slip differential, then there is the Carbon trimmed Centre console and it was also the first performance Ford with the Start Button. The standard equipment includes electric windows, central locking, electronic boot opening, Sony audio with CD player and steering wheel audio controls.

With MK1 Focus RS now 20 years old, it is very difficult to find a completely standard unmolested, corrosion free example. This RS has full-service history and has recently had the all important cam belt/water pump service and due to the age of the tyre’s we have fitted a brand new set of Continental contact sports, so this RS is all ready to be enjoyed.
